Christmas

A whole lot has happened since I was here the last time. I am 2 months on the other side of a total knee replacement. It has not been an easy process to say the least. I am doing very well with rehab and probably a month and a half to go. I exercise my knee 3 time a day.  It is getting quite boring. I am very driven to be back to normal and much better than before the surgery.

With all of the covid going on I want to say I had a hero nurse. She was very special to me.  I had a reaction to a blood transfusion and she actually came to my rescue.  I will always remember her. She was quite a wonderful nurse.

I did manage to decorate for Christmas and to make a whole snowman choir out of vintage salt and pepper shakers. It seemed like it took forever.  I couldn’t work very long at a time.  So it was quite an accomplishment for me.

Now I have been working on the Tim Holt village.  I have made some huge planning mistakes doing so.  It has been annoying and disappointing at times. But it is definitely a time killer! I think I am on the other side of it now. At least I hope I am!

These are probably my favorite. Still not very well executed.

What did I learn here? Do not make your houses out of Watercolor paper only!

What did I learn here? Paint your houses before you put them together!

I am now convinced to use the base house out of Tim Holtz HEAVYSTOCK MIXED MEDIA OR CRAFT STOCK. Then if you want water color paper cut it out of that. Run it through the mini embossed folders of bricks, stones, or wood. Now paint or color it as you will. Flatten it the best you can, if using vellum in the windows now is the time, and glue it to your heavy stock.  Put the house together. I tried hot glue and I didn’t do well at all with that. I used my other glue and had to hold it together for some time to get it to stick. Glueing to me is the hardest part. Perhaps with practice I will finally get the hang of it. For now I am not real pleased. When I am I will post them here again.

I will be back when I have more to say. Please stay safe and I hope this will be a better year for you and our earth.
