Let’s Catch Up

I have been gone a very long time. I had closed my shop and moved back to Oklahoma from Tennessee. It was a hard hard hard decision. But I had to do it. Life throws you for loops sometimes. I am back to Oklahoma and in a different town that I use to live in. My girls are in Oklahoma City so I get to see them and my only granddaughter Roxy. That is so special to me. I missed them horribly. My brother, however, moved back to Michigan so my sister in law could be with her family. Neither of them are in good health so I understand why but I hate it.

Some of you will know that I was working on a quilt when I was in Tennessee. It was actually one of my first quilts. With some encouragement from my Uncle Barry I finally finished it. It was a thing I just need to do to get my life back on track. It was professionally long arm quilted and it now is a symbol of coming out of heartbreak and moving on.  I sets on my bed and I love it.

I went to work when I got here and I have retired officially. Well I just can’t set around and do nothing! So my life is quite busy. I reopened my shop. Some how I lost the SweetArtUnlimited. I was unable to get that name back. So it is now SweetArt Always. Close enough!

Not only do I do my shop but we bought an RV. A toy hauler to be exact. Both my husband and I ride Harley’s

Well this has been a very hard few days. I cut my left index finger so bad I had to go to the emergency room. There was nothing the could really do for me. They got it to stop bleeding. I am going to an orthopedic doctor tomorrow. It is very bad. It sliced off at the tip of my finger into my fingernail and down towards the first knuckle. It was a scary sight for sure. So I am going to give you a warning about rotary cutters. Get a handle for your ruler and avoid injuring  yourself like I did. A good portion of my finger is gone.

Tyvek, Scissor Fobs,

Hello everyone. I am trying to get back into the blog. It is still giving me problems but I am now working putting in pictures from the bottom up so I can see what I am doing.

Today I would like to show you some of the Tyvek.  This continues to keep my interest. It is so unruly.  That is exactly what I like. You never know how it is going to look. When I work on beads I do quite a few of them and I work on them for days.

I also have been working on the small scissor fobs. I do them mostly at night. I sort of watch television but if I really want to watch television I have to put the needlework down. It holds my attention much better than television ever does.  You will notice that rarely do I do them alike. That is because I pretty much make them up as I go. I have made 23 new ones recently. They are finished and now I have to do photographs and get them listed in my Etsy shop SweetArtAlways.

Watch everyday as I add new fobs!

Speaking of the shop I have also listed the remainder of my needlework design supplies. There are some hand painted linens, zweigert linens. I have some Silk N Colors that I used for kits and a bit of Soie Cristale silks from Caron, and some Soie d’alger.

You might think I only do things for the shop but that isn’t exactly true. I have dabbled in knitting and spinning yarn. Last year I did most of my friends and my granddaughter artist trading cards. One for every month. It was quite time consuming but it kept me very busy. I had a time line so it could give me a little stress thinking of new things to do every month. Some of them I did in the receivers favorite colors. My granddaughter takes hers to church with her and the little children like to look at them. That made me feel good.

Well that is it for this time. Be sure to ask any questions here or at SweetArtAlways shop. I also will do custom things for you if I can. Thanks for dropping by.
