Ready for the Sentimental Journey to Be Over

Well all my blocks are done finally.  I cut some sashings today and have 3 borders to do.  Then I will see how much it costs to have it quilted professionally.  I guess since I am putting it on our bed I would like it to look nice.  Plus the work into the top has been trying to say the least.  I guess I have once again picked something a bit beyond my ability.  Several of the blocks were very hard.
The heart one hopefully will be done over if I have enough fabric.  I will keep the block and perhaps make a pillow or something out of it.  I will use it as a gage to how far I have come.

Quilt Block Name: I've Got Rhythm

This block went fairly well.  No outstanding problems to speak of.  I am getting better but still have a long ways to go.

Quilt Block Name: Fly Me to the Moon

This block was a bit harder.  It has lots of triangles that had to meet.  I tore it apart a few times and from this picture you can see that it was "eased" in a bit.  Not one of my favorites but it will have to do.

Quilt Block Name: Smoke Gets In Your Eyes

I enjoyed this block.  I don't like smoke but this one is fun.  It seemed like all the triangles just fell into place.  I love the way it looks too.

Quilt Block Name: It Don't Mean A Thing

Lots of triangles in this one.  It came out pretty okay but I am not crazy about it.  I think out of all the ones I made I liked the Stardust block the most.  I am glad I did do this quilt because it tells me the type of thing I really like and what I don't like.  Plus it lets me know that some I am not really ready for.

Here it is with sashings laid out.  I have 3 borders to do and next time I blog about this I should have the top completed and ready to go to the long arm quilter.  Looks good on that concrete floor in the basement.  The floor is almost the right color!

Hope you enjoyed it.  Any comments are appreciated.
